Problems encountered
• The aim was for the course to be interdisciplinary –
Nurses attend. Only one doctor so far.
• I set up a team of dedicated speakers/trainers but some are not always available
• Particularly difficult to find trainers for the scenarios among this group.
• Attendees do not complete pre reading so are not as actively involved
Positives
• Good feedback from attendees
• High attendance numbers
• Instigates thought and discussion
• Those who start off anxious about taking part in scenarios often feel ok afterwards
Future plan
• Change format to online learning followed by attendance at 3 hour session including scenarios
• To encourage more active participation by attendees by necessary pre learning requirements
• Need less trainers per course.
• May be able to run more frequently
