YOUR COMMITTEE ROLE COMMITTEES EVERY SOCIETY MUST HAVE: • President • Secretary • Treasurer YOUR COMMITTEE ROLE PRESIDENT THE PRESIDENT’S ROLE INCLUDES: • Overall responsibility for the organisation and coordination of society activities. • To act as the first point of contact for members and main contact for the Students’ Union, ensuring information is forwarded and acted upon by the designated deadline. • To engage with society members, gather their concerns, issues and suggestions for improvement and communicate these to the society committee and relevant staff YOUR COMMITTEE ROLE PRESIDENT THE PRESIDENT’S ROLE INCLUDES: • To feedback actions taken on these concerns, issues and suggestions to students through email, social media, notice boards and in person. • To chair society meetings and ensure its smooth running. YOUR COMMITTEE ROLE SECRETARY THE SECRETARY’S ROLE INCLUDES: • Overall responsibility for the administration of society activities. • To coordinate, plan and produce all society communications. This includes responsibility for the regular update of your society webpage, Facebook and Twitter in addition to a regular distribution of information by email. YOUR COMMITTEE ROLE SECRETARY THE SECRETARY’S ROLE INCLUDES: • To outline an agenda for each committee meeting alongside the President, to take minutes and circulate these amongst Committee Members and to the Societies & Volunteering Coordinator. • To submit forms and applications as required by the Union or Society need by given deadlines e.g. room booking forms, risk assessments etc. YOUR COMMITTEE ROLE TREASURER THE TREASURER’S ROLE INCLUDES: • Overall responsibility for the administration of society finances. • To ensure Society funds are managed appropriately and accurate records kept. • To submit applications for Union grants by given deadlines alongside appropriate supporting evidence. YOUR COMMITTEE ROLE TREASURER THE TREASURER’S ROLE INCLUDES: • To submit invoices for payment/receipts for reimbursement alongside appropriate Committee minutes and Union forms. • To communicate regularly with the Societies & Volunteering Coordinate regarding account balance and financial planning.
