• The National Trade Association for Trucking
• Founded in 1933, its federation of 50 state
associations represents more than 37,000 members
• It was the merger of 2 groups that established the
ATA. The American Highway Freight Association
and the Federated Trucking Associations of
America
• Its goal “To serve and represent the interests of the
trucking industry with one united voice”
• Its greatest attribute is legislative affairs
TRUCKLOAD CARRIERS ASSOCIATION
(TCA)
• Based in Alexandria VA.
• President Chris Burruss former state executive in
Tennessee
• 73 year old Association that deals with education
and awareness
• Holds many webinars on training, safety, and
security
• Works with ATA on Legislative Affairs
• Serves many types of truckload carriers

• Publishes Specifications, test protocols, and
guidelines which are used in highway designs
• ODOT is main member in Oklahoma

• Tests vehicles for safety
