The Executive Branch of
government provides leadership
for the country.
The President of the United States is in
charge of the Executive Branch.
Barack Obama is
the President of
the United States
now.
The President is the
commander in chief
of the military.
He also appoints
judges to the
Supreme Court.
He signs bills to
become laws.
He also vetoes bills.
Americans elect a
President for 4 years.
We vote for President
in November.
The Vice-President is also a member of
the Executive Branch.
• The Vice President of the United States
now is Joe Biden.
• If the President can no longer
serve, the Vice President
becomes President.
• If the President and Vice President can no
longer serve, the Speaker of the House of
Representatives becomes President.
• The Speaker of the House is the elected
leader of that part of Congress.
