Crisis in Zimbabwe . Zimbabwe is a country in crisis where many of its 13 million population are struggling to get by. There’s 80 per cent unemployment and life expectancy is 37 years for men, 34 for women. Over the last 8 years, the economy has shrunk by more than 40 per cent. Infrastructure is in a state of disrepair after a decade of inadequate maintenance and investment. Some 47 per cent of the population are undernourished, according to the World Food Programme. Tearfund’s working through the local church to bring spiritual and material hope. Our partners are providing: • Livelihood support to feed the hungry… • Improved access to water and sanitation … • Support for people living with HIV Photo: Geoff Crawford/Tearfund Please pray for: • An end to politically-motivated violence. • The success of crops and future harvests in a country so heavily reliant on farming. • Pray for a spirit of forgiveness to be the starting point for true reconciliation in Zimbabwe. • The Lord to bless the work of Tearfund and our partners in Zimbabwe, striving to lift the marginalised and voiceless out of material and spiritual poverty. A prayer for Zimbabwe Heavenly Father, We thank you for the nation of Zimbabwe. We praise you that many have recently received greater access to water, food and HIV support. We continue to pray for those who are malnourished and ask that you would bless the nation with good crops. Father, you are the Prince of Peace. We pray for your peace to cover the nation, ending political violence and allowing for free and fair elections. Thank you for your faithfulness and that you always hear our prayers, in Jesus’ Name, Amen To learn more and to support our work in Zimbabwe, please go to www.tearfund.org/zimbabwe Photos: Eleanor Bentall/Tearfund
