A wave of “ethics, values and clean living” to sweep South Africa and the globe “if My people who are called by My Name will humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, (GDOP wave 1) and turn from their wicked ways, (UE wave 2) then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land” (revival wave 3) 2 Chronicles 7:14 People with humility don’t think less of themselves … They just think about themselves less. Corruption part of public life, says watchdog Transparency International, a Berlin-based nongovernmental organisation, said its global corruption barometer this year showed bribery was most prevalent in Africa, where an average 36% of those surveyed said they or a member of their families had paid a bribe in the past 12 months. Latin America was next, with 17% of those polled saying they had bribed someone recently. In Russia and the former Soviet republics, the figure was 12%. IS IT BALANCED? Is it fair to all concerned in the short term as well as the long term? Does it promote win-win relationships? HOW WILL IT MAKE ME FEEL ABOUT MYSELF? Will it make me proud? Would I feel good if my decision was published in the newspaper? Would I feel good if my family knew about it? I ASKED GOD - A Prayer answered I asked God for strength And God gave me difficulties to make me strong! I prayed for wisdom And God gave me problems to solve! I asked for prosperity And God gave me brains and strength to work! I prayed for courage And God gave me dangers to overcome. I asked for love And God gave me opportunities! A Prayer answered… I asked for humility And God gave me experiences not to be proud of! I asked God to grant me patience And God said ‘No’. He said that patience is a product of tribulation. It is not granted. It is earned. I asked God to spare me pain And God said ‘No’. He said, suffering draws you apart from worldly cares and brings you closer to me! I received nothing I wanted. I received everything I needed. My prayer has been answered. (Gary Player – To become a champ ) THE PEAR TREE (Hab 3:17-19) There was a man who had four sons. He wanted his sons to learn not to Judge things too quickly. So he sent them each on a quest, in turn, to go and look at a pear tree that was a great distance away. The first son went in the Winter, the second in the Spring, the third in Summer and the fourth son in the Fall. When they had all gone and come back, he called them together to describe what they had seen. The first son said that the tree was ugly, bent and twisted. The second son said, no it was covered with green buds and full of promise. The third son disagreed; he said it was laden with blossoms that smelled so sweet and looked so beautiful; it was the most graceful thing he had ever seen. The last son disagreed with all of them; he said it was ripe and drooping with fruit, full of life and fulfillment. The man then explained to his sons that they were all right, because they had each seen but only one season in the tree’s life. He told them that you cannot judge a tree, or a person, by only one season and that the essence of who they are and the pleasure, joy and love that come from that life can only be measured at the end, when all seasons are up. If you give up when it’s Winter, you will miss the promise of your Spring, the beauty of your Summer and the fulfillment of your Fall. Don’t let the pain of one season destroy the joy of all the rest. Don’t judge life by one difficult season. Persevere through the difficult patches and better times are sure to come some time.
