Matthew 14:22-31
Immediately Jesus made His disciples get into the
boat and go before Him to the other side, while He
sent the multitudes away.
And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went
up on the mountain by Himself to pray. Now when
evening came, He was alone there.
But the boat was now in the middle of the sea, tossed
by the waves, for the wind was contrary.
3
Matthew 14:22-31
Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to
them, walking on the sea.
And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea,
they were troubled, saying, "It is a ghost!" And they
cried out for fear.
But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, "Be of
good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid."
And Peter answered Him and said, "Lord, if it is
You, command me to come to You on the water."
4
Matthew 14:22-31
So He said, "Come." And when Peter had come
down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to
Jesus.
But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he
was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying,
"Lord, save me!"
And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and
caught him, and said to him, "O you of little faith, why
did you doubt?"
5
6
Mark 14:27-29
Then Jesus said to them, "All of you will be made to
stumble because of Me this night, for it is written: 'I
will strike the Shepherd, And the sheep will be
scattered.'
"But after I have been raised, I will go before you to
Galilee."
Peter said to Him, "Even if all are made to stumble,
yet I will not be."
7
Mark 14:30-31
Jesus said to him, "Assuredly, I say to you that
today, even this night, before the rooster crows twice,
you will deny Me three times."
But he spoke more vehemently, "If I have to die with
You, I will not deny You!" And they all said likewise.
8
9
Mark 14:32-34
Then they came to a place which was named
Gethsemane; and He said to His disciples, "Sit here
while I pray."
And He took Peter, James, and John with Him, and
He began to be troubled and deeply distressed.
Then He said to them, "My soul is exceedingly
sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch."
10
Mark 14:35-37
He went a little farther, and fell on the ground, and
prayed that if it were possible, the hour might pass
from Him.
And He said, "Abba, Father, all things are possible
for You. Take this cup away from Me; nevertheless,
not what I will, but what You will."
Then He came and found them sleeping, and said to
Peter, "Simon, are you sleeping? Could you not
watch one hour?
11
Mark 14:38-40
"Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The
spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak."
Again He went away and prayed, and spoke the
same words. And when He returned, He found them
asleep again, for their eyes were heavy; and they did
not know what to answer Him.
12
Mark 14:41-42
Then He came the third time and said to them, "Are
you still sleeping and resting? It is enough! The hour
has come; behold, the Son of Man is being betrayed
into the hands of sinners. Rise, let us be going. See,
My betrayer is at hand."
13
Romans 13:11
And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time
to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer
than when we first believed.
14
15
Mark 14:43-44
And immediately, while He was still speaking, Judas,
one of the twelve, with a great multitude with swords
and clubs, came from the chief priests and the scribes
and the elders.
Now His betrayer had given them a signal, saying,
"Whomever I kiss, He is the One; seize Him and lead
Him away safely."
16
Mark 14:45-47
As soon as He had come, immediately he went up to
Him and said to Him, "Rabbi, Rabbi!" and kissed
Him.
Then they laid their hands on Him and took Him.
And one of those who stood by drew his sword and
struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his
ear.
17
John 18:10
Then Simon Peter, having a sword, drew it and struck
the high priest's servant, and cut off his right ear. The
servant's name was Malchus.
18
19
Luke 22:50-52
And one of them struck the servant of the high priest
and cut off his right ear. But Jesus answered and
said, "Permit even this." And He touched his ear and
healed him.
Then Jesus said to the chief priests, captains of the
temple, and the elders who had come to Him, "Have
you come out, as against a robber, with swords and
clubs?"
20
Luke 22:53-54
"When I was with you daily in the temple, you did not
try to seize Me. But this is your hour, and the power
of darkness."
Having arrested Him, they led Him and brought Him
into the high priest's house. But Peter followed at a
distance.
21
Matthew 16:24
Then Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone desires
to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his
cross, and follow Me."
22
23
Luke 22:55
Now when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the
courtyard and sat down together, Peter sat among
them.
24
1 Corinthians 15:33
Do not be deceived: "Evil company corrupts good
habits."
25
Psalm 1:1-2
Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of
the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor
sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the
law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and
night.
26
27
Luke 22:56-58
And a certain servant girl, seeing him as he sat by the
fire, looked intently at him and said, "This man was
also with Him.“
But he denied Him, saying, "Woman, I do not know
Him."
And after a little while another saw him and said,
"You also are of them." But Peter said, "Man, I am
not!"
28
Luke 22:59-60
Then after about an hour had passed, another
confidently affirmed, saying, "Surely this fellow also
was with Him, for he is a Galilean."
But Peter said, "Man, I do not know what you are
saying!" Immediately, while he was still speaking, the
rooster crowed.
29
Mark 14:66-68
Now as Peter was below in the courtyard, one of the
servant girls of the high priest came. And when she
saw Peter warming himself, she looked at him and said,
"You also were with Jesus of Nazareth.“
But he denied it, saying, "I neither know nor
understand what you are saying."
And he went out on the porch, and a rooster crowed.
30
Mark 14:69-71
And the servant girl saw him again, and began to say
to those who stood by, "This is one of them."
But he denied it again.
And a little later those who stood by said to Peter
again, "Surely you are one of them; for you are a
Galilean, and your speech shows it.“
Then he began to curse and swear, "I do not know
this Man of whom you speak!"
31
32
33
Luke 22:61a
And the Lord turned and looked at Peter.
34
Hebrews 4:13
And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but
all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to
whom we must give account.
35
Proverbs 15:3
The eyes of the Lord are in every place, Keeping
watch on the evil and the good.
36
2 Chronicles 16:9
"For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout
the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of
those whose heart is loyal to Him. In this you have
done foolishly; therefore from now on you shall have
wars."
37
Job 34:21
"For His eyes are on the ways of man, And He sees
all his steps."
38
39
Mark 14:72
A second time the rooster crowed. Then Peter called
to mind the word that Jesus had said to him, "Before
the rooster crows twice, you will deny Me three
times." And when he thought about it, he wept.
40
Luke 22:61-62
And the Lord turned and looked at Peter. And
Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how He had
said to him, "Before the rooster crows, you will deny
Me three times."
So Peter went out and wept bitterly.
41
2 Corinthians 7:10
For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to
salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the
world produces death.
42
43
John 20:1-2
Now on the first day of the week Mary Magdalene
went to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw
that the stone had been taken away from the tomb.
Then she ran and came to Simon Peter, and to the
other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and said to them,
"They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb,
and we do not know where they have laid Him."
44
John 20:3-5
Peter therefore went out, and the other disciple, and
were going to the tomb.
So they both ran together, and the other disciple
outran Peter and came to the tomb first. And he,
stooping down and looking in, saw the linen cloths
lying there; yet he did not go in.
45
John 20:6-7
Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into
the tomb; and he saw the linen cloths lying there, and
the handkerchief that had been around His head, not
lying with the linen cloths, but folded together in a
place by itself.
46
47
Mark 16:1-3
Now when the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene,
Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought
spices, that they might come and anoint Him.
Very early in the morning, on the first day of the week,
they came to the tomb when the sun had risen.
And they said among themselves, "Who will roll away
the stone from the door of the tomb for us?"
48
Mark 16:4-5
But when they looked up, they saw that the stone
had been rolled away--for it was very large.
And entering the tomb, they saw a young man clothed
in a long white robe sitting on the right side; and they
were alarmed.
49
Mark 16:6-7
But he said to them, "Do not be alarmed. You seek
Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen!
He is not here. See the place where they laid Him.
But go, tell His disciples--and Peter--that He is
going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him,
as He said to you."
50
51
Luke 24:30-32
Now it came to pass, as He sat at the table with them,
that He took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it
to them.
Then their eyes were opened and they knew Him;
and He vanished from their sight.
And they said to one another, "Did not our heart
burn within us while He talked with us on the road,
and while He opened the Scriptures to us?"
52
Luke 24:33-34
So they rose up that very hour and returned to
Jerusalem, and found the eleven and those who were
with them gathered together, saying, "The Lord is
risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!"
53
1 Corinthians 15:3-5
For I delivered to you first of all that which I also
received: that Christ died for our sins according to
the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He
rose again the third day according to the Scriptures,
and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve.
54
55
Luke 22:31-32
And the Lord said, "Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan
has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. But
I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail;
and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your
brethren."
56
John 21:15-16
So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to
Simon Peter, "Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me
more than these?" He said to Him, "Yes, Lord; You
know that I love You." He said to him, "Feed My
lambs."
He said to him again a second time, "Simon, son of
Jonah, do you love Me?" He said to Him, "Yes,
Lord; You know that I love You." He said to him,
"Tend My sheep."
57
John 21:17
He said to him the third time, "Simon, son of Jonah,
do you love Me?" Peter was grieved because He said
to him the third time, "Do you love Me?" And he said
to Him, "Lord, You know all things; You know that I
love You." Jesus said to him, "Feed My sheep."
58
59
Acts 4:18-20
And they called them and commanded them not to
speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.
But Peter and John answered and said to them,
"Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to
you more than to God, you judge. For we cannot but
speak the things which we have seen and heard."
60
Acts 5:38-40
"And now I say to you, keep away from these men and
let them alone; for if this plan or this work is of men, it
will come to nothing; but if it is of God, you cannot
overthrow it--lest you even be found to fight against
God."
And they agreed with him, and when they had called
for the apostles and beaten them, they commanded
that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and
let them go.
61
Acts 5:41-42
So they departed from the presence of the council,
rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer
shame for His name.
And daily in the temple, and in every house, they did
not cease teaching and preaching Jesus as the
Christ.
62
63
John 21:18-19
"Most assuredly, I say to you, when you were
younger, you girded yourself and walked where you
wished; but when you are old, you will stretch out your
hands, and another will gird you and carry you where
you do not wish."
This He spoke, signifying by what death he would
glorify God. And when He had spoken this, He said
to him, "Follow Me."
64
2 Peter 1:13-14
Yes, I think it is right, as long as I am in this tent, to stir
you up by reminding you, knowing that shortly I must
put off my tent, just as our Lord Jesus Christ
showed me.
