What Is EVDO?
.
EVDO is a Protocol for high speed wireless
Broadband.
.
Mobile devices that use EVDO technology can upload
and download data quickly.
.
The EVDO is developed in 1999.
Working:
.
Traditional wireless network creates a direct path
between receiving and sending device, much like
traditional telephone network.
.
EVDO instead breaks data into individual packets, the
same technique for data handling used on the internet.
.
The original EVDO protocol, called Revision 0,has a
theoretical throughput of 2.4 megabits per sec. (Mbps)
EVDO(CDMA) SPEED:-

In the CDMA world, the high-speed wireless protocol
is called EVDO.
.
Like many abbrevition, this one has two translations:
Evolution Data optimized and Evolution Data Only.

The typical download often cited in the 300-700 Kbps.

Comparison Between EVDO And UTMS:

The biggest challenge to EVDO has been the Universal
mobile telecommunication system (UMTS).
.
UMTS-which is sometimes known by the name of its
radio interface standard, Wideband-CDMA(WCDMA)
- uses large bands for data transmission.
.
This approach can be less vulnerable to interception and
jamming than some other wireless technologies.
.
Data transfer speeds are slower than with EVDO,
however, with speeds of up to 2 Mbps.
Different Types Of EVDO Cellular Device:

Evolution Data Optimized (EVDO) wireless cellular
device that are use to access broadband services from
local access point.

The use of EVDO cellular device requires a service
arrangement with a carrier.
.
The choice of device is typically limited to those offered
by the carrier.
EVDO ANTENNA:

An EVDO Antenna is an antenna through which data is
transmitted and received along the evolution data
optimized EVDO Telecommunication standard.

An EVDO Antenna is primarily used for the transmision of broadband internet data on cellular device, as
oppose to voice data.
3G EVDO:
.
3G EVDO is the abbreviation for 3rd generation
Evolution Data Optimized.
.
It refer to high speed internet access via a wireless
network.
.
The EVDO modem comes in the form of air card which
function as the receiver of signals that allow its user to
gain access to the internet.

Download speed for EVDO fall in between the range of
400-700 Kbps and network can burst up to a 2 Mbps
speed.
Advantage:

EVDO is a network which provide wireless user with
high speed internet access on their mobile phones.
.
The main advantage of EVDO for business professional
is never having to be disconnected when important
information comes in.
Disadvantage:

.
Range varies even inside the house.
A bit too expensive for the average user…. Better wait
till the prices come down a bit…
