教会唯一的根基，是主耶稣基督。
The Church’s one foundation is Jesus Christ her Lord.
蒙主重造恩新奇，栽培浇灌祝福。
She is His new creation by water and the Word.
主从天上来寻她，为主圣洁新妇。
From heaven He came and sought her to be His holy bride.
舍身流血的代价，坚立永远基础。
With His own blood He bought her, and for her life He died.

The Church’s One Foundation
虽从万邦选出来，信徒都成一体。
Elect from every nation, yet one over all the earth.
教会合一的根据，一主一信一洗。
Her charter of salvation One Lord, one faith, one birth.
同尊唯一的圣名，同餐唯一天粮。
One holy name she blesses, partakes one holy food.
同怀唯一的希望，同蒙恩爱久长。
And to one hope she presses, with every grace endued.

虽她经历了艰辛，受人讥笑毁谤。
Mid toil and tribulation and tumult of her war.
内争分裂了她身，异端叛逆中伤。
She waits the consummation of peace for ever more.
圣徒焦虑对问说，黑夜到底多长？
Till with the vision glorious Her longing eyes are blest.
哭泣即将变歌声，转瞬便见晨光。
And the greast Church victorious shall be the Church at rest.

The Church’s One Foundation
她虽在地却联合，真神三位一体。
Yet she on earth hath union with God the Three in One.
已享安息的众圣，奥秘永恒团契。
And mystic sweet communion with those whose rest is won.
直至欲穿的望眼，看见光荣家乡。
O happy ones and holy Lord, give us grace that we.
到时凯旋的教会，得享安乐无疆。
Like them, the meek and lowly, on high may dwell with Thee.
