THE DANGERS OF BERYLLIUM
Beryllium is not the the safest mineral. It causes
very harmful decease called
Beryllious. Beryllious affects the heart and 20 %
of all causes people die because of breathing in
beryllium. It also damages the heart and organs
COLOR / LUSTER / STREAK
color : the color of beryllium is usually steel gray
Luster : the Luster is mostly metallic luster
Streak : the streak of beryllium is white
HARDNESS
On the mohs hardness scale beryllium is a 5.5
right in the middle. Right above is apatite and
right below Feldbar. Some other minerals that
are a 5.5 is molybdenum, and hafnium.
WHERE IS BERYLLIUM FOUND
Beryllium was first found in France then it was found in
California. That’s where it mostly appears though.
Abbé René-Just Hauy in 1798 was the first to find
beryllium.
