The lamb was without blemish. 2. The lamb was a male of the first year. 3. The lamb was set aside for 4 days on the 10th of Nisan 4. The penalty was imposed the moment the lamb was chosen. 5. The lamb was killed between the evenings at 3PM 6. The lamb’s bones where not broken (Ex. 12:46; Num 9:12) 7. The blood of the lamb applied to the door saved the Israelites'’ first born. 8. The body of the lamb must be eaten the same night (Ex 12:8) 9. No work was to be done on the Passover. The Israelites could not save themselves. Even if they should have spent all the night in prayer, the destroying angel would have broken in upon them, and slain their first-born if the blood was not on the door. Significance 1. He was examined and found without blemish (Mat 21:23; 27:1-2; 11-14; 17-26; Luk 3:2; Joh 11:49-53) 2. He was the firstborn Son of Elohim 3. He entered Jerusalem and the temple on public display for four days on the 10th of Nisan. 4. Messiah received the death penalty for our sin before He was born. 5. He died in the seventh hour, 3P.M. (Mark 15:33-37) 6. His bones were not broken (Ps. 34:20; Joh19:31) 7. The blood of Messiah saves us. 8. He was crucified, suffered, and died in the same night. 9. The blood of Messiah saves us, not our works (1Pet1:18-21) The 10 Plagues Pharaoh denied the existence of Elohim. The purpose of the 10 plagues was to settle the score: 1. The Nile was a god to the Egyptians, because it was their source of life and now, it brought death. For an entire week the only water available was that of the Israelites. 2. Then El made the Nile produce millions of frogs that tormented the Pharaoh and Egyptians. The frog also represented some of the Idols they worshiped. 3. And even with the stench of the dead frogs still in the air, Elohim made lice come from the dust of the earth. This plague could not be reproduced by the magicians of Pharaoh. http://voices.yahoo.com/why-did-god-send-frogs-locusts-boils-other-4005713.html The 10 Plagues 4. Swarms of flying insects where everywhere, bringing disease! Lord of the flies: Beelzebub was defeated as they invaded the homes of only the Egyptians. (arov: mixture) 5. Pestilence came and destroyed the Egyptians livestock. A sign of riches and power as well as their idols (bull), they were impoverished as they had done to the Israelites. 6. Painful boils that could not be healed by their healers plagued the Egyptians, but not the Israelites. The 10 Plagues Elohim illustrates He is Master of the Skies as well: 7. Hail of fire and ice bombarded Egypt for a week, but they had no warning this time to show that their god of weather is incompetent. But here, those Egyptians who listened and went in for shelter did not die. 8. One month later, with a strong East wind, a swarm of locusts descend upon the fields, consuming everything left on the ground. 9. A month later, without warning, a three day long, dense, eerie darkness falls over them, while the chosen ones have light. Even something as fundamental as light and darkness, can be manipulated by Elohim’s will, not Amon-Re The 10 Plagues But, for the Egyptians, even though almost everything had been taken away from them, there was still one thing to hold on to: Their future: Every Egyptian firstborn dies and later the whole Egyptian army perishes in the Red Sea.
