At this point the river is at 1,802m above sea level. This river has no outflow. The water of this great river sinks in to the sand and mud of the Moyynqum Desert. The Chu river is one of the longest rivers in Kyrgyzstan. The Iranian Sughds originally lived around the river Chu. They spoke the ancient language of Soghdian, an East Iranian language.
