Psalm 84:1-4
• “How amiable are thy tabernacles, O LORD of hosts!
• My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of
the LORD: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the
living God.
• Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the
swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her
young, even thine altars, O LORD of hosts, my King,
and my God.
• Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will
be still praising thee.”
• Who wrote this?
God’s Kingdom is a Home for Believers
• “There came then his brethren and his mother, and,
standing without, sent unto him, calling him.
• And the multitude sat about him, and they said unto
him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek
for thee.
• And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or
my brethren?
• And he looked round about on them which sat about
him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!
• For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my
brother, and my sister, and mother.”
Mark 3: 31-35
How Do We Do God’s Will?
• “Then said they unto him, What shall we do,
that we might work the works of God?
• Jesus answered and said unto them, This is
the work of God, that ye believe on him whom
he hath sent.” John 6:28-29
Prodigal Son
• “And when he came to himself, he said, How many
hired servants of my father's have bread enough
and to spare, and I perish with hunger!
• I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto
him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and
before thee,
• And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make
me as one of thy hired servants.
• And he arose, and came to his father.”
Luke 15:17-21
Isaac and Rebekah’s Home
• Jacob: “My father peradventure will feel me, and
I shall seem to him as a deceiver; and I shall bring
a curse upon me, and not a blessing.
• And his mother said unto him, Upon me be thy
curse, my son: only obey my voice, and go fetch
me them… And Rebekah … put them upon Jacob
her younger son.”
• “And he [Jacob] came near, and kissed him
[Isaac]: and he [Isaac] smelled the smell of his
[Jacob’s] raiment, and blessed him [Jacob].”
Timothy’s Home
• 2 Tim. 1:5 “When I call to remembrance the
unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in
thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I
am persuaded that in thee also.”
• Paul remembers Timothy’s sincere faith and the
teaching that he had received from his mother and
grandmother.
Being a Believing Mother and a Father
• “And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his
mother, Behold, this child is set for the fall and
rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign which
shall be spoken against;
• (Yea, a sword shall pierce through thy own soul
also,) that the thoughts of many hearts may be
revealed.” Luke 2:34-35
