RECENT CHANGES AND

ADDITIONS

•The unit is the largest it has ever been at approximately 150 cadets

•Air Rifle Department consisting of the Team Captain and Range Officer was created

•Many cadets have taken and passed the Air Rifle Safety exam and are now qualified to practice and compete with the team

•We have acquired a range at our school’s annex building in

Eastampton

•Reintroduced the Plan of the Week

UNIT GOALS

•Achieve Distinguished Unit with Honors

•Have the Air Rifle team set up the range and participate in their first competition this year (Dec 14.)

•Have more than 151 cadets next year in order to become a Battalion

•Have multiple Chief boards prior to AMI in order to promote outstanding NS3’s

AIDE TO THE

SNSI/NSI

• Be a constant presence to the SNSI and NSI

• Be available at all times for whatever the Naval Science

Instructors may need

CHAPLAIN

Lead by being the best moral and ethical example possible

• Always be available for cadets who need guidance or advice

• Keep moral up within the unit and be a continuous presence at the unit events to help encourage other cadets

TRAINING OFFICER

• PT Test before Thanksgiving break

• Enroll all Juniors and Seniors in the SAT online course

• Prepare cadets for all upcoming PT postals

• Make sure cadets enjoy PT; various activities

PUBLIC AFFAIRS

DEPARTMENT

• Monitor the display case throughout the school to promote the more recent successes of the unit.

• Have articles displaying unit activities, field trips, parades, etc.

• Responsible for the distribution of the Unit’s Scuttlebutt newspaper. Our unit emails and sends out over 450 newsletters and distributes them among the Cadet’s families,

School faculty, and the V.I.P. list.

AIR RIFLE

DEPARTMENT

• Train cadets in air rifle and shooting safety

• Administer safety test to cadets after safety course is completed

• Set up and maintain range

• Oversee practices for competitions

ADMINISTRATIVE

DEPARTMENT

• Maintains and organizes all vital cadet information for everyone in the unit.

• Is responsible for entering information into JUMS, Joint Unit

Management System.

• Obtain and file all Standard Release And Health Risk

Screening forms by 31 October.

• Custody cards: Issue to ALL cadets and have returned before

31 October.

SUPPLY

DEPARTMENT

• Issue Uniforms to ALL new cadets correctly and on time

• Full inventory by November 20 th

• Replenish uniform storage room

• Train subordinates in department; weekly meetings

OPERATIONS

DEPARTMENT

• Have the unit participate in helping the school in school events

• Keep cadets involved in the unit by making fun and interesting events/field trips

• Work with the parent booster club to fundraise for the units expenses

• Get the unit involved in helping the communities surrounding the school

DRILL DEPARTMENT

• Organizes, trains, and develops our Regional Award Winning

Drill Team consisting 50+ members and the Veteran Armed and Unarmed Platoons.

• Trains New Cadets going out for Drill team Five days a week from Mid-September to November 21 st

• Oversees the Exhibition teams (Armed Exhibition, Unarmed

Exhibition, Color Guard, and Dual Armed Exhibition)

•Veteran’s Day Parade

•Neptune Drill Competition (2 nd place overall)

•40 th Anniversary Spaghetti
