Santana High School Journalism, Yearbook and Leadership Elective (Click mouse to continue) Journalism / Yearbook The Journalism & Yearbook Course is designed to provide students with the opportunity to participate as part of a team in the production of a bimonthly high school newspaper and annual yearbook. All activities will be dedicated toward these goals. Students will learn all aspects of document production, from project conception to final publication and distribution. Students are expected to contribute regularly, meet deadlines, and demonstrate the necessary level of personal responsibility and dedication to ensure the program’s success. (Click mouse to continue) ASB / Leadership The ASB / Leadership Course is an active, fun, high energy class in which students learn the basic elements of leadership and decision making, including how to participate in an effectively run meeting, parliamentary process, democratic procedures, presentations, and how to be part of a team. These elements will be applied toward the planning and execution of school wide activities and events which are designed to increase student enjoyment, morale, and pride in their school and community. Students will be expected to participate fully in all activities, to maintain a positive attitude, and to be good representatives of the values, goals, and spirit of Santana High School at all times. (Click mouse to continue) Both courses run concurrently, meaning students enrolled in this elective class will be members of both the Journalism/Yearbook program as well as the ASB/Leadership program.
