High School 101:
Leadership
• ARHS offers Leadership classes to students who
qualify. Requirements are:
o The student needs to be recommended, show leadership
qualities, already involved or not afraid to be involved in
the school and the community, willing to work with others,
etc.
• A list of example activities that students participate
in through the Leadership classes are on the next
slide.

• Projects: Big Fox Little Fox mentoring program with
BHES, SwampFest, Future Fox Night, Freshman
Orientation, School Pride and Beautification
projects
• Community Service: Lowcountry Food Bank Student
Food Drive, Relay for Life, Ronald McDonald House
Charities, Palmetto House, Francis Willis SPCA,
Summerville Miracle League, etc.

capabilities in any of the following clubs and honor
societies offered at AR. Those organizations are
listed on the next slide.

o Students must fulfill certain requirements to join an Honor Society
o Students are also selected/chosen based on that criteria

• Any student who wishes to participate in an athletic
sport must have a current physical on file(this must
be completed yearly), and have a 70 average in
the previous years’ classes. A complete list of
requirements is listed in your school handbook.

Extracurricular Activities
• ARHS has plenty of extracurricular activities that it
offers. Student involvement and participation is
encouraged.
• Students should remember that all school rules
apply to extracurricular activities on or off school
campus, including sporting events at other schools.

• Students may be denied the right to attend these
activities based on discipline and attendance
(which includes tardies!!!)
• Be on your BEST behavior at ALL times so that you
may enjoy the wonderful opportunities afforded to
you while at the Ridge!!
