The story takes place up north in the winter. Jeff and Debbie are cousins who are visiting their grandparents for winter break. The two kids are very curious when they discover this old house on a hill. Rumor has it that the house is cursed and a $10,000 reward for a missing mummy is still out there. The only person willing to talk about the deserted house is a very old neighbor named Mr. Karsten. The kids soon find out that Mr. Karston lived in the house many years ago. His mom got a job working for Dr. Hackman, so they moved into the house on Hackmans Hill. Paul Karston was just a boy and was very scared of Dr. Hackman. Dr. Hackman was a big man and wore a yachting cap. He seemed like he liked to scare kids. Dr. Hackman’s house was full of Egyptian artifacts including a mummy with golden eyes. Strange things started happening when Paul found a gold coin. He began to hear noises and something scratched at his door and said, “Where are my eyes?” • Paul figured out that there was a curse on the house. The problem was that Anubis, who is the protector of the mummy is in there. Dr. Hackman disappeared and the police searched the house for the mummy. No one ever found it and Anubis scared them away.
