Convert Occupancy to Vacancy Sensor
Leviton occupancy sensors can be manually adjusted to act as
vacancy sensors
Sensors can be set to only turn ON by the pushpad (operating
like vacancy sensors) by rotating the ambient light control
counter-clockwise to the "0" position
Image below shows an example of how the ambient light control
will look on a IPS05 sensor

Key Selling Points/Competitive Analysis
180° Field of View, 900
sq. ft. coverage
A large coverage area means that these
devices are suitable for use in large rooms
such as basements, garages and living
rooms

P & S RW500, P&S RWDU500 and
Wattstopper CD-250 sensors have
coverage areas of only 600 sq. ft.
Control of LED, CFL,
A variety of different bulbs and loads can
Incandescent, Halogen or be used. The IPSD6 dimmer model can
Motor loads
dim Incandescent, Halogen, CFL and LED
bulbs. The IPS05 and IPS15 support the
bulbs that the IPSD6 does and also
supports Magnetic Ballasts and Motor
Loads.

The IPSD6 currently has the widest range
of supported bulb types of any sensor on
the market.
The Lutron MS-OP600M, P & S
RWDU500, Wattstopper CD-250 and
Cooper OS106D1 sensors do not support
CFL or LED bulbs.
Neutral Wire is not
Required*
Easily replaces existing wall switch

The comparable Wattstopper CD-250 and
Cooper OS106D1 dimmable occupancy
sensor require a Neutral Wire
Color change kits are
available
The look of the device can be updated with
changes in décor. The sensors come
packaged with 3 colors in one box: White,
Ivory and Light Almond.

Color change kits simplify stocking
inventory for distributors, offer quick color
changeover to contractors and increased
decorating options to end users
The Lutron MS-OP600M, Wattstopper
CD-250 and Cooper OS106D1 do not
have color change kits

Key Selling Points/Competitive Analysis


Adjustable time delay
setting for lights
Lights will turn OFF after the space is
vacated. They can be set for 30 seconds,
5 minutes, 15 minutes or 30 minutes for
effective energy management

Screw terminals
For easier installation of wiring

Lamp Starting
Technology
Leviton Dimmable Occupancy Sensors
feature advanced starting technology for
CFL lamps. Many CFL lamps require a
higher voltage to start, especially at low
dimmer settings.


Automatic-ON is ideal for locations such a
laundry rooms, kitchens, garages,
basements, pantries and storage areas
where residents often have their hands full
and find it helpful to have lights
automatically switch ON when they enter
and OFF when the space is vacated.
Manual-ON can be used in high traffic
areas such as hallways and conference
rooms. Here, users prefer to choose when
to manually switch the lights ON, but want
to be certain lights automatically switch
OFF when the space is vacated.
Some other sensors on the market have a
fixed delay time value after which the
lights will turn off including the P & S
RW500BWCC4, RWU600BWCC4
RW500UWCC4, RWU600UWCC4, and
some application specific sensors. Leviton
sensors allow a user to specify the time
delay based on location and user
preference.
Lutron, P & S, Wattstopper and Cooper all
use leads for their sensors, screw
terminals make Leviton sensors easier to
install.
This special feature provides controlled
voltage guaranteed to start CFL lamps.
The Lutron MS-OP600M, P & S
RWDU500, Wattstopper CD-250 and
Cooper OS106D1 sensors do not support
CFL bulbs.
