Double weighted units are twelve points and you will undertake several of these in social work: Critical Social Work 1( 12 points) Supervised Professional Practice 1 and 2 are both 12 points Critical Social Work 4 is 12 points. Overloading Students may not take more than 24 points of study each semester. Overloading (exceeding the 24pt limit) is restricted to students who have completed at least one year of university study and have achieved at least a credit average in the previous academic year. Supervised Professional Practice - Field Education • Supervised Professional PracticeField Education is part of your Social Work program. • All students undertake 1000 hours of supervised field education placement (500 hours first placement usually in year 3 and second semester of your degree and again in the 4th year of your degree. • Please note that in the third year placements start in June- meaning no semester break.
