VietAbroader’s mission is to empower Vietnamese youth to contribute to Vietnam’s sustainable development. We
organize educational and professional programs to equip Vietnamese youth with knowledge, network, and support for

Why VietAbroader Career Conference (VACC) 2014?
Currently there is a mismatch between the demand and supply of skilled labor in Vietnam. Unemployment rate among
young people in Viet Nam is estimated at 5.95%, much lower than the global youth unemployment rate of 13.1%, but still
more than 3 times the adult rate (ILO, Global Unemployment Trends 2014).

VACC 2014’s Proposed Format Is Focused and Efficient.

Pre-conference Training Workshops
• Conducted either online or at sites
• Equip students with knowledge and skills such as resume writing,
interview, elevator pitch, and networking

1 day Conference:
• Keynote speech(es) by VA and sponsor companies’ representatives
• Morning panels by selected guest speakers
• Afternoon Career Fair

Participants:
• 150-200 students and young professionals (Vietnamese local and
overseas students, Vietnamese Americans)
• Pre-screened via an application process
• Selection criteria: interest in working in Vietnam; relevant work
experience; academic excellence; standardized test scores
