Mainly for the provision of computer facilities and services. • Dec 1969 - The Computer Centre took on an additional role of teaching and research of computer science and information technology. • 1974 - Diploma in Computer Science postgraduate programme was introduced. With the inception in the 1974/75 session to the 1999/2001 session, a total of 304 students had been awarded the Diploma. • Along the way, started in 1985 – Bachelor Degree as well as Master of Computer Science and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) programmes were introduced. • April 1993 - proposed for the establishment of a faculty establishment of the Faculty on Sept 1994. • From Semester I, 1995/1996 Academic Session, Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), Master of Computer Science & Master of Library & Information Science Programme has been offered. • For Semester I, 2013/2014 Academic Session, now is Batch 37. - FCSIT. Chairman & 1 member who is an expert in the field and a supervisor. A fourth member is allowed to be appointed if necessary. The same panel should follow through the proposal presentation and Candidature Defence. It is strongly recommended that one member is appointed as internal examiner.
