Midland:

Lowest average donation across both age categories and the lowest median donation.

Midland, Orillia and Collingwood have the highest rates in Simcoe County in regards to total
violent criminal code violations, property crime violations and overall crime severity index

Highest single-parent poverty rate in Simcoe County is in Midland and Collingwood
Collingwood :

Collingwood also ranks highest in average donation across both age categories, and is tied
with Orillia for highest median charitable donation.

Collingwood has the lowest vacancy rate in Simcoe County (total private apartment vacancy
rates)
Orillia:

Orillia, Midland and Collingwood all rank higher than the provincial and national child
poverty rate (children 18 years and under in Simcoe County who were classified as low
income)

Orillia and Midland rank higher than provincial and national overall poverty rate (individuals
in Simcoe County who were classified as low income)

Highest vacancy rate in Simcoe County (total private apartment vacancy rates)
COMMUNITY PROFILES


South Simcoe:

Total violent criminal code violations, property crime violations and overall
crime severity index rates are lowest in South Simcoe (as compared to other
regions in Simcoe County)

Bradford West Gwillimbury, Essa Township and Midland all rank higher than the
provincial rate but still fall below the national elderly poverty rate (seniors 65+ in
Simcoe County who were classified as low income)
Barrie:

Barrie’s youth unemployment rate for ages 15-24 was higher than the 2006 rate
and in 2011 was higher than the provincial and national rates

Barrie is the safest city in Canada in 2014. Barrie's community is engaged in
keeping the public safety.

Single-parent poverty in Barrie is lower than provincial and national rates.
