Male Hood VS. Manhood
Every man is a male, but every male IS NOT a man!
Male Hood- is based upon genitalia
Manhood- is based upon responsibility
For so many men, the first responsible man we saw was
outside of the house (coach, teacher, pastor), when the FIRST
responsible man we see should be inside the house (father).

3 FUNCTIONS OF BIBLICAL MANHOOD
Prophet: prophets of the OT always spoke what “Thus saith
the Lord”/TRUTH.
-It is every mans Christian Responsibility to know truth
and to speak truth (John 8:32/Ephesians 4:25).
-The truth is God’s Word; MEN MUST STUDY IT, KNOW
IT, AND SPEAK IT.
Priest: the priests in the OT went into the Holy of Holies and
interceded on behalf of God’s people by sacrificing animals
for the atonement of their sins.
-In the NT, intercession is made through prayer.
-Every man ought to have a prayer life
(1 Thess.5:17/1 Tim. 2:8).

King: OT kings were rulers who protected God’s people
by doing battle and provided for God’s people by giving
financially to the things of God.
-As kings, men are not just rulers; we are to be
protectors and providers (1 Tim.5:8).
-Many men want to rule without protecting and
providing for what they rule.

(1.)CHRISTIAN: to be Christ like
-Ephesians 4:1-3 LIVE a life worthy of being saved.
*Men ought display the following: humility;
meekness; patience; peaceful.
(2.)HUSBAND
-Ephesians 5:22-33 Give Servant Leadership To Our
Wives.
*Love as Christ loved the church.
*Lead our wives in the WORD.
*Love our wives as our own bodies.

(3.)FATHER:
-Ephesians 6:4
*Don’t be too hard on our children.
*Raise our children by teaching and training them in
the Word of God.
*To do the above things, we must be present.

-Ephesians 6:5-9
*Be obedient employees. *Respect our employers.
*Work as if I’m working for God.
*Show respect & rule with an open hand as an employer.
