Module 4 SEAMEO College Module 4 Learning and Innovation Forum of Youth Leaders (LIFYL) Lead Centre: SEAMEO SPAFA Cooperating Centres: BIOTROP, RELC and all SEAMEO Centres Module 4 Module 4 • This module focuses on developing “new leaders” who will take future leadership roles in education, science, culture and other initiatives in Southeast Asia and beyond. Creativity Character Communication Confidence Empathy Commitment Accountability Perseverance Integrity Organization Social responsibility Vision • Module 4 can serve as a feedback mechanism from the youth to the education ministers. Objectives Module 4 • To familiarize with world-renowned innovation processes and a wide range of educational innovations and best practices in a focus area; • To gain knowledge and skills in creative thinking and innovation; • To gain unit skills in learning to learn and learning to relate Target groups Module 4 • Youth leaders representing the future of leadership, coming from schools, universities and colleges in SEAMEO member countries. • Nominated under 30, these youth leaders are selected through a qualified nomination process that creates a diverse and truly representative body. • Nomination will be taken from at least 20 schools, universities and colleges representing each member country in the LIFYL activities. • The potential clients of this module are estimated at more than 50,000 from across the Southeast Asian region. Online collaboration Plan for Year 1 Module 4 • We propose to organize the first learning and innovation forum for youth leaders in October 2014. • The ultimate goal of the activity and the module is to contribute to the overall SEAMEO College project in the strengthened capacity of leaders in the development and utilization of human resources which would ultimately produce education innovation to build capable human resources contributing to the Golden SEAMEO Goal and a more integrated ASEAN Community. Objectives Module 4 To provide a regional platform for youth representatives from SEAMEO member countries to build leadership skills in order to make the ASEAN region more competitive through strengthened capacity. Specifically, the project aims to: • Build leadership qualities for youth representatives in SEAMEO member countries. • Prepare future leaders for their employability in the job market. • Familiarize future leaders of ASEAN with the understanding and appreciation of its regional identity.
