Sitting bull was the leader of the teton
sioux indians.
 He was born in the 1830s
 Sitting bull learned how to hunt buffalo
and fight as a kid

He was know as a brave , skilled warrior
 In 1857 he became the war chief for his
tribe
 People from the U.S. moved into sioux
land
 Sitting joined a war party at 14

In 1867 sitting bull became tribe chief
 He wanted peace with the settler.
 In 1876 Sitting bull’s tribe prepared for the
battle of Little Bighorn

His tribe won the war
 They were forced to move
 Sitting bull taught people the Indian way
of life

Sitting bull got shot and died in 1870 at
his house
 People remember him as a important
leader
 He helped defend the American Indian
culture


