San Peter’s Basilica OPTION A: Tuesday June 23, 2015 Morning: Arrival at Fiumicino Airport w/ a faculty member awaiting students at baggage claim. Students take Leonardo Express Train and a taxi to their hotel (at student expense: total about 25 euro) Afternoon: Students arrive at hotel Time to regroup/unpack/nap/explore the neighborhood Evening: Orientation and Welcome tour of Rome including: Piazza della Repubblica, Piazza Venezia, il Campidoglio, Via del Corso and the Trevi Fountain. Dinner will be included after the tour. Wednesday, June 24, 2015 Morning: Breakfast at the hotel (included/complimentary), tour of the Coliseum and Roman Forum. Visit of San Pietro in Vincoli and the Moses by Michelangelo. Transportation via metro. Afternoon: Free time to explore the city/nap/shop Evening: Tour of Piazza di Spagna and Piazza del Popolo, San Luigi dei Francesi Church (home to paintings by Caravaggio) and dinner. Thursday, June 25, 2015 Morning: Breakfast at hotel, visit of the Vatican: Saint Peter’s Basilica, the Vatican Museum, and the Sistine Chapel; and a possible walk by the Castle Santangelo. Afternoon: Free time to explore the city/nap/shop Evening: Tour of Piazza Navona and whole group dinner Friday, June 26, 2015 Morning: Breakfast at hotel, check out of hotel/store bags. Free time until departure, with shopping time in the Via Veneto district as an option. Afternoon: 14.30 Scura bus leaves for San Demetrio Corone, Calabria. Evening: 21.35 Arrive in San Demetrio Corone, Calabria. OPTION B: Saturday, July 25, 2015 Morning: 5.20 Scura bus leaves for Rome (another option can be leaving at 10.00pm on Friday night and arriving in Rome at 6:00am) Afternoon: 12.55 Scura bus arrives in Rome, check in to hotel, free time to unpack/regroup/nap/shop Evening: Orientation and Welcome tour of Rome including: Piazza della Repubblica, Piazza Venezia, il Campidoglio, Via del Corso and the Trevi Fountain.
