Otter guided the international Blue Shield rescue mission for the Historisches Archiv der Stad Köln, that collapsed in 2009. 13:38-13:46 Jos van Beurden, researcher on issues of illicit traffic and restitution of cultural heritage. Van Beurden will focus on the silence around objects and collections, acquired during the European colonal era in contested manners and in circumstances of war and violent conflict. He answers the question: What can we contribute to it? 13:46-14:54 Edwin Maes, lecturer and researcher at the section Cultural Affairs & Information, and liaison officer for cultural heritage, at the Dutch Ministry of Defence. During the last four years Mrs. Shamier has been frequently traveling to Syria for humanitarian help, working together with Dutch NGO's and local churches in Syria. Huis Doorn is the former residence of the German Emperor Wilhelm II after World War I. He was given asylum by the Dutch government.
