Take a guided tour of the most scenic
part of the Göta Canal on the M/S Kung
Sverker. You’ll pass historical landmarks such as the grave of Baltzar von
Platen, Motala Ström, Charlottenborg
manor and the Gamla Motala Verkstad
factory area. After the amazing flight of
five interconnected locks in Borenshult,
at a height difference of over 15 metres,
we take a ride on Lake Boren to Borensberg, where we’ll stop a while before

A day on the Göta Canal this summer.
The Berg lock area consists of 15 locks. The
big flight is called Carl Johan and consists
of 7 interlinked locks down to Lake Roxen.
Discover the most beautiful part of the Göta
Canal on our top-notch ship the M/S Ceres,
which makes two trips on the canal daily.
Your adventure starts in the Berg basin,
just above the Carl Johan flight of locks.
You pass through lovely scenery from the
Berg locks to Borensberg (or the other way),
passing through nine locks, two aqueducts
and several bridges. The lock in Borensberg
is manually powered. The total difference in
height is an amazing 21 m.
Ply the waters in one direction and take a
comfortable coach back, or why not borrow
a bicycle from us at no charge and enjoy one
leg of the trip on two wheels. The coach
makes a stop at the Cloetta Chocolate
Shop/museum corner or the Brunneby Musteri juicing plant, depending on which leg of
the trip you’ve chosen to do by coach. It’s an
unforgettable trip you won’t want to miss.

the lockage to Mem, we serve coffee and
sandwiches. We pass Stegeborg and its
castle ruins, arriving at Harstena at about
12.30. After an hour and a half on this
amazing island, we start our trip back,
serving an excellent seafood plate with
dessert and coffee. Arr. Söderköping at
18.00.
