Schillo, 77, of Rochester, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011, at her residence. Loretta Marie Fischer was born on Aug. 29, 1933, in Beach, N. D., to Edward and Thecla (Kempenich) Fischer. She married her devoted spouse Earl, on May 12, 1962, in Golva, N.D. They shared 49 years of married life together. A graduate of St. Alexius and Carroll College, Loretta had a 40-year nursing career in a variety of positions, including floor nurse, director of nursing, and hospice nurse. She completed her career at Blue Cross Blue Shield as a patient care coordinator. She was known for her caring and compassion in both her professional and personal life. She was passionately involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren. Loretta was active in the Pax Christi Faith Community. She was a committed volunteer for several causes close to her heart, an accomplished cook, and an avid bridge player. She will be missed dearly by her family, friends, and community. Loretta is survived by her husband, Earl of Rochester; four children, Paul (Brenda) Schillo of Wrenshall, Barbara Schillo (Martha Osterberg) of Maplewood, Bruce (Denise) Schillo of Kasson, and Kathleen Schillo (Bradley Hauser) of Excelsior; six grandchildren, Caleb Schillo, Christian Schillo, Cory Schillo, Ellie Hauser, Collin Hauser, and Savannah Hauser; and one sister, Florence Fischer of Mott, N.D. She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and one brother. A Memorial Mass will be held Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Pax Christi Catholic Church, 4135 - 18th Ave N.W., with Father Joe Keefe officiating. A visitation will be held Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. and also one hour prior to the Mass on Wednesday at the church.
