In 20 years I have never seen GP morale as low. Most GPs of my generation appear to be trying hard to stick it out to Retirement at the earliest possible opportunity. the constant contract changes and need for serial Practice Meetings for Qof etc is seriously impacting on the ability to see Patients. Many larger Practices now effectively have an 'Admin' or 'Contract Partner' whose time with patients is significantly curtailed. Much of the work demanded is time consuming, unproductive, pointless and inconsequential - most frustrating as the work that earns the money is frequently not the work which involves patient contact.” 10.“Contract, pensions” 11.“Contract update” Q6.
