The Tudors By Max, Kian and Samuel Introduction You will find out a variety of things about the Tudors. You will find out: what they ate, the people in the Tudor times, wars that they had and the Tudor Kings and Queens. The War Of The Roses The war of the roses was a very big war between Richard III and Henry VII. Richard III got killed and Henry VII took over the throne of England. It was between the places Yorkshire and Lancaster. Tudor food The foods that they had were very strange but some of it was also very nice. They ate a lot of courses, this is an example of three courses they might have eaten. First course The first corse included venicen, heron and pickled heron and a series of fish. Second course This corse is a big one and includes roasted swan, boars head, eel, whale meat, chicken, beer, pig, beef, deer and roasted lamb Third course This corse is sure to be your favirout because it includes sweets coated in extra sugar, tarts and puddings. The Tudor Poor The Tudor poor had a very hard life because of what they had to do. The jobs they did were very tiring and worked six days a week. (The only days they had off were holy days and public days). All they did was farming, cleaning the streets and making cloth. There houses were usually made out of mud or they had little huts with hay for a roof. The Rich Tudors The rich Tudors had a far better life than the poor despite the rich ate more meat and therefore the rich had a shorter life. There food included venison, fish, robin, badgers, otters and good French wine. Wealthy Tudor houses needed many rooms where a large number of guests and servants could be accommodated, fed and entertained. King Henry VII King Henry VII was the first Tudor King. He was Henry VIII dad. He named his own son after him. He was born on the 28th of January 1457. at Pembroke castle in Pembroke. He died on the 21st of April 1509 at Richmond palace in London. His other child was called Arthur prince of Wales. He was buried at Henry VII Chapel in London. Henry VIII Henry VIII was the most famous Tudor. He was born on the 28th of June 1491. He died on the 28th of January 1547. His dad was Henry VII and his mum was called Elizabeth of York. As he got older he got fatter and got ill because of it .when He was young he loved sport and used to play it with his son Edward. He especially liked tennis, hunting and archery. Edward was the next King but he did not live long. The Mary Rose The Mary Rose was Henry VIII ship and won lots of battles. There was one battle that made the ship sink and that was when England was against the Spanish Armada. It was started make in 1510. It was launched in 1511 in July. It weighed a whopping 600 tons. It was made in Portsmouth and was built out of wood. King Edward VI King Edward was Henry VIII son that Jane Seymour had for Henry. He was born on the 12th of October 1537. the King Edward VI reigned for not very long and that started on the on the 28th of January 1547 to the 6th of July 1553 . His coronation was on the 20th of February 1547. He died on the 6th of July 1553 at Greenwich castle in Kent. Mary I Of England When Edward died, Mary became queen. Mary I was renowned ‘Bloody Mary’ because of all the people she murdered. Queen Elizabeth I Elizabeth I was the last Tudor queen. She was born on the 7th September 1533. She became queen on the 17th of November 1558. Her coronation was on the 15th January 1559 at Westminster Abbey. She died on the 24th of March 1603 at Richmond Palace. Queen Elizabeth the I was buried on the 28th of April 1603 at Westminster Abbey. King Henry Viii Six Wives Henry VIII had six wives two divorced, one died, two were executed and one was widowed.
