• Opened a nine-seat A&W root beer stand on May 20, 1927
• The first Hot Shoppe restaurant served hamburgers, hot dogs,
tamales, and root beer
• The third Hot Shoppe boasted curb-side service, becoming the
East Coast of the United States’ first drive-in restaurant
