Let’s….
• Let’s… yapısı bir kimseye öneride bulunurken
kullanılır.
• Cümlede kullanıldığı eylemle beraber
‘hadi….’anlamı verir.
• Diğer öneri kalıplarından farkı soru cümlesi
olmamasıdır. Sadece düz cümle kurmak için
kullanılır.
• Let’s li cümlelerde özne kullanılmaz. Gizli özne
olarak anlamda 1. çoğul şahıs (biz) vardır.
Let’s…
• Let’s + fiil (+ nesne)
• Let’s make a cake for your birthday party.
Olumlu cevap verirken :
• Yes, let’s. / Yes, that’s a good idea.
Olumsuz cevaplarda ise:
• No, Let’s not / No, that’s not a good idea.
gibi cevaplar kullanılabilir.
Shall we……?
• Bir eylemin yapılmasını önerdiğimiz
durumlarda kullanırız. Cümlede kullanıldığı
eylemle birlikte ‘….yapalım mı?’ anlamına
gelir.
Shall we + fiil (+nesne)?
Shall we play football?
(Futbol oynayalım mı?)
Sure / Yes, Let’s. – No, I’m sorry…
gibi cevaplar verilebilir.
Shall we……?
• “Shall we…?” yi “Let’s…” den ayıran özellik
bir soru cümlesi olmasıdır. Anlam olarak aynı
olmalarına karşın cümle yapıları farklıdır.
• Başkaları için bir şey yapmak istediğimizde ise
“Shall I…?” yapısını kullanırız.
Shall I make you a cup of coffee?
(Sana bir fincan kahve yapayım mı?)
Why don’t/doesn’t ……?
• Öneri cümleleri oluşturmak için kullanılır.
Cümlede kullanıldığı eyleme ‘neden …..
yapmıyorsun?’ anlamı katar.
A: I feel very ill today.
B: Why don’t you go to a doctor?
• ‘Shall we ….?’ gibi soru cümlesidir ve fiil yalın
halde kullanılır.
John: Why don’t we go to the cinema?
Ivy: Good idea. Let’s go.
John: Why doesn’t your sister join us?
Ivy: Ok! Let’s call her.
How about….? / What about …..?
• Cümlede “…… yapmaya ne dersin?”
anlamında, öneride bulunmak için kullanılır.
How about + fiil+ing + nesne?
Alfred: I am really bored.
Betty: How about going to cinema?
Jane: I can’t go out tonight. I must study.
Mike: What about studying together?

Should / Shouldn’t
• Tavsiye gerektiren durumlarda karşımızdaki
kişiye söylememiz gereken şeyleri “Should”
ile ifade ederiz.
• “Should” kelimesinin olumsuzu “Shouldn’t”
şeklindedir. Öğüt yada tavsiye verirken
‘…yapmasan iyi olur’ (yapmamalısın)
anlamında kullanılır.
