Delivering and Sustaining Transformational Programs- This area involves designing and conducting programs that are community relevant and have a positive, long-term impact. The community is engaged in the design, implementation and delivery. 2. Enhanced Member Service and Engagement- This area focuses on ensuring that members get what they need, when they need it, in the manner that is appropriate and most effective for their utilization at all levels of the organization. It involves embracing friendship, engaging in training, and communicating effectively. 3. Fund Development and Fiscal Responsibility- This area involves ensuring that the organization has adequate resources to support its strategic priorities at all levels. It focuses on transparency, accountability and good stewardship. The Answer is : 4. Leadership Development- This area involves training leaders at all levels of the organization including chapters, area, and national. Members are prepared to lead within the organization to ensure consistency, continuity and manage intergenerational opportunities. 5. Organizational Assessment and Alignment- This area involves evaluating all aspects of the organization, including but not limited to membership, leaders, programs, partners, funders, chapters, staff, etc.). The data is used to facilitate connecting all aspects of the organization. 6. Promoting Links Brand- This area includes reaching consensus about who we are, what we do and the value we bring. We communicate and collaborate effectively both internally and externally. The Question is: What are the 6 Guiding Principles of The Links Incorporated and your Strategic Plan should be in alignment with these? *Key to Program Planning The Answer is: The Question is: What is the Program Pyramid and name its components? Deliver and Sustain Transformational Programs Goal 1: By the end of 2013, further operationalize the Service Delivery Model as a tool for planning, implementing and evaluating programs for their long term impact and relevance to communities. Goal 2: By the end of 2014, develop additional targeted focus areas within health/well-being and education for community-relevant program development. Goal 3: Support program sustainability by engaging community partners/collaborators in the design, implementation and delivery of all programs. The Question is: What are the 3 National Strategic goals for Delivering and Sustaining Transformational Programs? Answer is: All Chapters will have transformational programming by 2014. Question is: What is the Links, Incorporated’s vision for Programs? And Will your Chapter’s program be part of that vision? The Answer is: All of them. The Question is: Which of National’s goals did the Eastern Area adopt? Can you define and use: SMART goals: Specific Measurable Aattainable Realistic Timely SDM : Service Delivery Model PMI Programs Making Impact What is the difference between a project and a program? Know the Answer… *A project is a series of episodic events. Activities with no real purpose. *A program is “A comprehensive approach to solving a problem or addressing an issue or need in a chapter’s community.” It is long term and has specified outcomeoriented objectives. What were some of the qualities of the award-winning programs? Under budget Sustainable *High percentage of member participation Impact in the community Collaboration *Part of a signature program Name a National Signature Program or National Initiative & The related Facet Know the Answer… National Signature Programs Before a program becomes a National Signature Program it must have: • • Brought forward to the Executive Council & then voted on Operated successfully across all Areas for at least 5 years Shown clear results for improvement using the SDM Monitored and evaluated Can only be discontinued through the same process Know the Answer… National Signature Initiative Once operating successfully for a minimum of 4 years, a National Initiative can be presented to the Executive Council for a vote for it to become a Signature Program. This program has content, and clear guidelines for implementing successfully where results can be measured (using the Service Delivery Model). The program has a long track record for success. Discontinued using the same process. What is an Umbrella Program? Fully Integrated Program – All 5 Facets working on the same program with one facet leading What is an Integrated Program? 2 to 3 Facets working together on the same program with one facet leading Can every member in your Chapter answer the questions in the “11 Key Steps for Transformational Programming?
