• Create an email group for the board and the
members
– Google Groups & Reflectors
• Inform members about upcoming events
– Social media can be used to promote activities
• Be professional in all levels of communication
• Communicate with the Lt. Governor
• Communicate with Faculty and Kiwanis
advisors

• MEMBERS
– Greet members at the door. Acknowledge everyone. If there is any
trouble, be sure to address it.
• BOARD OFFICERS
– Hold board meetings at least once a month to discuss upcoming
projects, finances, goals, progress, and etc.
– You are a team: involve them in discussions, and delegate!
• ADVISORS
– Advisors have the experience you need. Keep them informed and
be willing to listen to their advice.
• LIEUTENANT GOVERNORS
– Your Lieutenant Governor has valuable information about district
events and opportunities and is there to SERVE YOU!
• EXECUTIVES
– Have questions or just need someone to talk to? Contact an
executive officer: they are there to support you.

Take Action!
• Serve as the “chief executive officer”
• Call and preside over board meetings
• Delegate and assign tasks to the officers and
members
– Task Coordinators & Event Coordinators
• Ensure that tasks are completed
– MRF, dues, etc.
• Hold elections prior to DCON, and submit a new
board roster to your Lt. Governor
• SERVE the members!

Attend!
• Represent the club at Kiwanis meetings and
functions
• Represent the club at Division Council
Meetings (DCMs)
• Attend service projects, and club/division
events
• Attend Fall Rally, District Convention, and
International Convention

Host Meetings!
• Host regular Key Club meetings open to all
members
• Discuss upcoming and past events
• Answer member questions and listen to
suggestions
• Post agendas and minutes so everyone is
informed
• Invite members and other officers to present
during meetings

Assist and Ask!
• Monitor all other officer work to ensure that it is
completed on time
• Have exceptional knowledge of Key Club –
International and District-wide
• Educate new members about Key Club

No One Shows Up!
• Plan more appealing meetings!
– Food and music are good crowd-gatherers
– Icebreakers can lighten the mood, energize the
crowd, and help everyone get to know each
other.
• For ideas, go to the CyberKey.
• Promote and plan more events!
– Big events, and meaningful long term projects
– Consider member opinions, and cater to their
interests.

Drama in the House!
• Don’t take any sides unless there is a clear-cut
issue or rule infringement
• Address the problem head on and in a timely
manner
• Refer to your club’s constitution and bylaws
• Talk to your Kiwanis and/or Faculty Advisors!
– They have years of experience and can act as a
neutral third-party to settle any issues.
