BACKGROUND
Amin Textiles Ltd., located at Sholoshohor,
Chattagram, was established in 1986 and is one
of
the significant BTMC-owned textile mills situated
within a rapidly urbanizing and
commercially strategic area of the port city. The
mill occupies a substantial land parcel of
approximately 24 acres, making it one of the
largest industrial sites within the city’s inner
urban
fabric.
Over time, due to aging infrastructure, obsolete
machinery, lack of capital investment, and
changing market dynamics, the mill has
experienced a gradual decline in productivity and
operational efficiency. Much of the existing built
fabric and mechanical systems are either
underutilized
or
require
comprehensive
modernization to meet contemporary industrial,
environmental, and safety standards.Recognizing
the high redevelopment potential of the site,
BTMC envisions the rejuvenation of Amin Textiles
Ltd. through a PPP-based redevelopment
strategy.
