EXAM:
MR KNEE LEFT HIGH RESOLUTION WITH 3D REFORMATIONS
CLINICAL HISTORY:
DX: M23.92
COMPARISON:
November 18, 2025
TECHNIQUE:
Utilizing a 1.5T high-field MRI scanner, an MRI of the left knee was performed without intravenous
contrast using multiple sequences in multiple planes.
FINDINGS:
There is interval susceptibility artifact within the anterior proximal tibia secondary to hardware
from tibial tubercle osteotomy.
There is repair of the medial retinaculum and medial patellofemoral ligament at the patellar and
femoral attachments.
Within the patellofemoral compartment, patellar demonstrates 16 mm lateral subluxation relative to
the central trochlear sulcus. Patellar tilt angle is estimated at 13 degrees.
Tibial tubercle to trochlear groove distance is estimated 10 mm.
Superior aspect of the femoral trochlea and again demonstrates a flat contour with no appreciable
depth of the trochlear sulcus, again suspicious for trochlear dysplasia. There is chondral
fissuring of the superior aspect of the lateral trochlear facet.
The bony structures are intact.
The marrow signal is within normal limits.
The articular cartilage is intact.
The anterior cruciate ligament is intact.
The posterior cruciate ligament is intact.
The medial collateral ligament is intact..
The iliotibial band, lateral collateral ligament, biceps femoris tendon and popliteus tendon are
intact.
The lateral meniscus appears intact
The medial meniscus appears intact

The quadriceps tendon is intact.
The patellar tendon is intact.
There is a moderate suprapatellar effusion
Popliteal fossa is unremarkable.
IMPRESSION:
1. Proximal tibia:
Interval tibial tubercle osteotomy.
Interval improvement in prior tibial tubercle to trochlear groove distance.
2. Medial retinaculum: Resolution of the prior re-tearing at the medial retinaculum and medial
patellofemoral ligament repair.
3. Patella:
Interval improvement in prior lateral patellar subluxation.
Interval improvement in prior lateral patellar tilt angle.
