1. TASKS
You can choose from the following tasks for your project report. Please choose one of them to work on in your
project report.
1.1 Task 1: Battery Storages for Private Customers
Background: You work in the start-up “Green Storage”. Meanwhile, there are more and more electric vehicles on
the road. However, there are no suitable second-life concepts for reusing old batteries, but they are still not ready
to be recycled. Your start-up therefore plans to reuse the old batteries as stationary battery storages in private
households. Since you have worked with Salesforce during your studies at the IU International University of
Applied Sciences, it is your job to adapt a Salesforce platform to effectively support your sales activities.
Task: You want to support the sales activities effectively. Salesforce already offers a variety of views, functions,
and input options. Modify the Sales App in Salesforce Lightning Experience so that your sales team is not
distracted by too many elements. However, add extensions where you think it makes sense. Use screenshots to
explain the adjustments you have made.
Create a dashboard in Salesforce Lightning Experience for your sales team and explain why you have used specific
components for this dashboard.
Add relevant data to Salesforce Lightning Experience. Finally, plausible scenarios should be visible in the
dashboard and in the other screenshots.
To make the processes more efficient, automatically create a Chatter message in Salesforce Lightning Experience
once an opportunity has reached the status “won”. Explain how you have implemented this.
Hint: Use your own Playground to work on the task (look at the trailmix “IU: CRM Fundamentals” for further details
about Playgrounds). Do the exercises in Trailhead in other Playgrounds so that you do not accidentally change
anything. After having looked at the basics of CRM and Salesforce in the trailmix “IU: CRM Fundamentals”, start
with the trailmix “Prepare for Your Salesforce Platform App Builder Credential”. Always keep the above task in
mind and implement relevant content soon - so you create the solutions for the tasks while working through the
learning units in Trailhead.

1.2 Task 2: Methane Pyrolysis for Business Customers
Background: You work in the IT department of “HyGas”, an innovative company that has developed a novel
pyrolysis process to produce climate-neutral hydrogen from natural gas. A prototype has already been tested that
has exceeded all expectations. Your company plans to produce small pyrolysis devices for business customers.
These devices should be sold by sales partners - a good idea for the beginning as you benefit from their know-how
and their network. Since you have worked with Salesforce during your studies at the IU International University
of Applied Sciences, it is your job to adapt a Salesforce platform to effectively support your sales activities with
the sales partners.
Task: Your sales partners should have access to your Salesforce platform in the future. Explain how this platform
can support your sales partners.
Create your own application for your sales partners in Salesforce Lightning Experience with relevant functions to
give them the best possible support. Explain your solution using screenshots.

1.3 Task 3: Transport Drones for Heavy Loads
Background: You are a product manager in a large online mail order company. This company also produces selfdeveloped drones to deliver parcels. You got the idea to build much bigger drones, for example to transport heavy
loads. Together with a team you were commissioned to produce several prototypes of these drones. You have
already rented a production site and the first housings, motors, batteries and rotors are already being shipped
from China. Since you have worked with Salesforce during your studies at IU International University of Applied
Sciences, you know that the Salesforce platform is very flexible. It is therefore your job to implement the project
management as well as inventory management in your Salesforce platform. Since the inventory will initially still
be manageable, all inputs and outputs in the inventory can be maintained manually in Salesforce.
Task: Create your own application for the project management as well as inventory management in Salesforce
Lightning Experience. For orientation, the project “Build a Battle Station App” is helpful for this task. You can use
this project as a starting point for your own modifications. For a reference to this project, see "Trailhead links" in
this section.
Create a dashboard in Salesforce Lightning Experience for your sales partners and explain why you have used
specific components for this dashboard.
Add relevant data to Salesforce Lightning Experience. Finally, plausible scenarios should be visible in the
dashboard and in the other screenshots.
As soon as your prototypes have been successfully tested, further process improvements are required. Describe
relevant options for process automation with Salesforce.

2. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR THE EVALUATION OF THE WRITTEN
ASSIGNMENT
When conceptualizing and writing the written assignment, the evaluation criteria and explanations given in the
writing guidelines should be considered.
3. TUTORIAL SUPPORT
In this written assignment task, several support channels are open; as the student, it is your responsibility to select
your preferred support channel. The tutor is available for technical consultations and for formal and general
questions regarding the procedure for processing the research essay. However, the tutor is not required to
approve outlines or parts of texts and drafts. Independent preparation is part of the examination work and is
included in the overall evaluation. However, general editing tips and instructions are given in order to help you
get started with the written assignment.
