Learn about privacy settings, remove/block people that aren’t your friends or family from
social media, don’t click on unknown or random links, be careful while using social media
apps, don’t destroy your reputation on international platforms, never share your phone
number, use polite language and be respectful, remember to log out on shared devices and
avoid using public Wi-Fi, turn off location sharing on social media apps.
Avoid political and religious debates unless you are 100% sure, avoid risky downloads, and
ignore any message that asks for a password.
Digital Footprints
A digital footprint is the permanent trail of data and information that an individual or
organization leaves behind as a result of their online activities and interactions.
This trail can be found on the internet and digital devices and essentially comprises a record
of one's entire online presence.
Digital footprints are generally composed of two types:

Active digital footprints: This includes data that is deliberately and intentionally
shared by the user. Examples include posting on social media, sending emails, filling
out online forms, or agreeing to website cookies.

Passive digital footprints: This is information collected about the user without their
explicit knowledge or awareness. Examples include websites tracking browsing
history and IP addresses, or apps using location data in the background.
How to Secure Digital Footprint:
Strong privacy settings
Keep your family moments private
Avoid sharing your pictures publicly
Remove or update old content
Use separate accounts for family and work
Controlling Your Digital Reputation:
Why it matters;
People often judge who you are by what they find about you online.
A good post builds a strong and positive reputation for you in the Digital World and your
relatives and friends
How:
Use real name & photos (only where necessary)
Avoid posting when unnecessary
Credit Sources and avoid Plagiarism and false claims
Keep your personal & professional spaces separate
Don’t respond in anger
Avoid rumors
Technology Use Ethics:
Screen Time should be reasonable
