Introduction
Introduction
This unit is devoted to give an introduction to statistics which is applied in
every field of science such as engineering, social science, agriculture and
etc.
Two branches of statistics, descriptive and inferential statistics are
introduced. The subject matters of descriptive statistics are also discussed.
Graphical method and tabular method are introduced to describe data. Main
components of a statistical report are introduced at the last.
This unit has four sessions. Session one contains an introduction to statistics
which discuss about the basic concepts of the statistics. The data types and
scale of measurements are discussed in session two. The session three
contains the methods of summarizing and presentation of data of a statistical
analysis. The descriptive analysis is discussed in session four.
