Topic: The Palestinian Issue
Claim: I have learned a little about the history of the Palestinian problem in order to
write this essay because I thought that there was the source of the problem and I
wanted to find it. However, during the course of my study, I realized that even if I
found the source of the problem, the current problems of war and refugees would
not be solved if I found that “this problem is happening because of the bad things
that happened”. Therefore, I decided to give my thoughts without using much
historical background. And now that I have decided to look at the current situation,
no consequences can happen except to end the war. First, I believe there are two
ways to end the war. The first is to bring about a cease-fire, which is currently
taking place. The second is for either side to surrender to the other. Until now, the
first option has been used as a solution to the Palestinian problem. In reality,
however, it looks good on paper, but the war continues even after the conclusion of
the agreement. Now that this has happened, I think both sides of this war are
thinking that the latter measure is the only way to make the Palestinians surrender.
But perhaps that is not possible. Israel has expanded its territory in Palestine over
the course of several Middle East wars, occupying areas outside those defined by
international law. In this way, it seems that Israel will push through and the war will
end, but since it is Jews and Arabs who are actually fighting, it will also have to
wage war with the Arab countries around Palestine. I think one of the articles is
about the war in southern Lebanon. And the reason why Israel has the upper hand
in the Middle East war is because of the support of the US and other countries.
Israel is an important region in terms of energy resources, and the U.S. wants to
take advantage of that. All of this makes it difficult to understand who in the world
wants to stop the wars. Every country sees its own interests as more important
than human life. If they really want to stop the war, they need to stop the war, and
then work out a solution between representatives who really want to stop the war,
in a forum arranged by a third country that has no interest in either side. I
understand that there are various historical backgrounds, interests, religious
beliefs, and pride. But why do we put them above our lives? Are you saying that
Judaism, Islam, Christianity, or any other religion has something more important
than life? If you are acting from religious thought, why are you disrespecting the
one and only life itself, which is the most important thing in religion? I think it is
necessary to ask why they believe in the religion in the first place. In reality,
however, it may no longer be an act of religious thought. It may just be a territorial
instinct as an animal. As the number of conflicts increases, the reason for the
conflict is forgotten, and people simply think, “I am stronger than the other party,
and this place belongs to me. We own this place". In the year 2024, we live in a
world where science and technology have greatly advanced and various ideas
have spread, but in the end, we still cannot escape from our animal instincts, and I
think this is something that proves that we are “animals” before being human.
