Grammar Future Tense - Writing Practice
Diary entry
Imagine it is the year 2050. You are writing a diary entry about a new invention that
has just changed your daily life. It can be something realistic (like a flying car) or
something imaginative (like a robot that does your homework).
Your diary must include:
1. The date (e.g., April 17th, 2050)
2. A description of the new invention
3. How it works
4. How it helps you or others
5. Your feelings about this invention
6. Use at least 5 future tense sentences (e.g., “It will make my life easier.”)
Example:
June 3rd, 2050
Dear Diary,
Today I tried the new Dream Translator for the first time! It will record my dreams
while I sleep and turn them into videos I can watch in the morning. I will finally
understand what my strange dreams mean. The translator will also help scientists
study how the brain works. It even has a sleep music option to help me relax. I think
this invention will change how people think about sleeping. I can’t wait to see what I
will dream about tonight!
