The maps represent the development that has taken place in a supermarket over the
five-year period.
Overall, the supermarket has undergone significant renovations, marked by the addition
of self-checkout machines, the expansion of product variety, and a complete
reorganization of the store layout.
Looking at the maps in more details, it can be seen that the supermarket has changed
considerably by now. In the original layout, the central area of the supermarket contained
only three shelves, with limited variety of products. However, the current updated layout
includes more organized and offers a wider range of products. The northern part of the
supermarket was previously empty, with no specific sections. Now, that area has been
transformed into a large food section, providing more variety of products. The frozen food
section, once located in the northwest corner, has also expanded significantly, covering
most of the right side of the supermarket now.
Along with the changes to the layout, the supermarket also made several adjustments.
Five years ago, there was only a few traditional checkout-counters. Now, the supermarket
offers both staffed checkouts and self-checkouts. Previously, because of lack of the
shopping carts which caused problems during peak shopping hours, the supermarket now
has increased the number of them. Finally, new layout includes additional exit next to the
entrance, which helps to reduce overcrowding.
