surveys with accuracy and precision.
CO2
Plan and execute topographic and construction surveys for real-world civil engineering projects, including site
layout, road alignment, and contour mapping.
CO3
Analyze and interpret survey data using appropriate software tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or GIS) to create
detailed maps and engineering drawings.
CO4
Work effectively as a team member to complete large-scale survey projects within stipulated time frames,

Survey Camp: Civil Engineering Surveying Practical Experience is a Two-Three-week course
after the 4th semester. Each day is about eight hours long and full of hands-on experience with
surveying and map preparation. Teams of 4-6 students will work with faculty, practicing surveyors
and use their equipment out in the field. The camp will provide a necessary foundation for any
engineer. It will teach them how surveying is applied to engineering projects and what they need
to know in order to review survey data. The students will prepare map of an area following various
steps like establishment of control points, Triangulation, computations, error adjustment, plotting
details on map and contouring
.
The students for this course shall be evaluated in 5th semester by a Committee consisting of three
teachers to be constituted by the Chairperson of the Department.

Project Work
The student will submit a synopsis at the beginning of the semester for approval from the
departmental committee in a specified format. The Project work will be a design project or
experimental project or computer-oriented project or Research Review Project on any of the
topics of civil engineering interest. It will be a group project.
The assessment of the project will be done at the end of the 4th semester by a departmental
committee consisting of 2-3 faculty members/experts specialized in various fields of Civil
Engineering.
