NARRATIVE REPORT ON THE 3RD QUARTER NATIONWIDE
SIMULTANEOUS EARTHQUAKE DRILL (NSED)
As quoted by (W.H.O.), “a disaster can be defined as any occurrences
that cause damage, ecological disruption, and loss of human life, deterioration
of health services on a scale, sufficient to warrant an extraordinary response
from outside the affected community or area”.
With this, it is necessary that planning, and preparedness, prevention,
mitigation, response, relief and recovery are critical to tackle in order to
reduce the negative impacts and effects of such events among individuals.
During these trying moments, school offers safety and shelter to those
displaced by disaster.
Since the core of DRRM is to save lives and properties, therefore, it is
a challenge accepted by all of us in the DepEd family to provide safe teachinglearning facilities and hazard-free environment to the school children.
Last September 7, 2023, 2:00 pm., our students and faculty members
of Bical National High School with the prodigious guidance of our principal,
Sir Reynaldo B. Vargas along with the DRRM Coordinator, Sir Jerick B.
Caceres, conducted the earthquake drill in pursuant to RA 10121,
preparedness and mitigation which are the key and strategies in
strengthening the skills and knowledge of our personnel teaching and non-
teaching and most especially our students to reduce the disaster risks and
that there is a need to implement an earthquake drill nationwide.
The aim of the simultaneous earthquake drill is to test the efficiency
and usefulness of the preparedness response and recovery plans, systems,
and policies of the school and to test the coordination and communication
mechanism of the students including school personnel during disaster.
The drill started at 2:00 pm. and the evacuation was executed within 5
minutes, the whole drill last or ended at 2:30 (30 minutes) including the
orientation of the DRRM team. Pupils were very participative, and all were
prepared, responsive, and intact.
Finally, the drill was very successful and ended smoothly, it was a great
opportunity for every participant that refreshes their knowledge about
disaster and will make them safe and sound for emergency situations.

NARRATIVE REPORT
4th QUARTER NATIONWIDE SIMULTANEOUS EARTHQUAKE DRILL
In reference to the OUOPS Memorandum No. 2023-04-1668 regarding the
schedule of the CY 2023 Quarterly Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED),
and Memorandum No. 225, S. 2023 Memorandum by the Schools Division Office of
Albay. Learners and Personnel of Bical National High School participated in the
conduct of 4th Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill.
Bical National High School faculty and Staff conducted the 4th National
Simultaneously Earthquake Drill (NSED) last November 09, 2023. This activity is in line
with the campaign of Department Education (DepEd) to equip the school, teachers
and students with the knowledge and skills on what to do in case of natural and manmade disaster like earthquake that will strike in our area.
The school DRRM coordinator together with the faculty and staff led the
activity. The drill was carried smoothly. The students occupied the designated area
based on the school evacuation plan.
Before the conduct of earthquake drill, The School DRRM coordinator
instructed all the teachers and staff that after the bell rings, everybody must perform
the activity such as to duck, to cover and to hold. When the leader had secured
already the area to be safe for the students and teachers, they went out from their
classroom and went directly to their assigned holding areas on the school ground. The
adviser made a headcount to secure to make that all students were complete.
The activity was successfully done through the collaborative efforts of Teachers,
Learners and staff of Bical National High School. Post evaluation exercises conducted
by the DRRM Coordinator.

NARRATIVE REPORT ON THE CONDUCT OF 1st QUARTER
NATIONWIDE SIMULTANEOUS EARTHQUAKE DRILL (NSED)
MARCH 25, 2024
On March 25, 2024, at 9 in the morning, Midkiwan Integrated School actively
participated in the 1st Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill 2024. The
event aimed to raise awareness about earthquake preparedness and enhance the
community's readiness in case of a real seismic event. This exercise was organized
by the School DRRM Coordinator and Team.
The school, together with the school head, teachers, and learners, worked
closely with the SDRRM Team to ensure a successful and well-organized event. As
the clock struck 9:00 am March 25, 2024, the earthquake drill commenced:
The drill began with a simulated earthquake alert signal broadcast throughout
the school. All participants were instructed to "Drop, Cover, and Hold " as they would
in a real earthquake.
After the initial shaking, the evacuation alarm sounded, signifying the start of
the evacuation phase. Teachers guided their students to the designated evacuation
routes, emphasizing the importance of staying calm and moving quickly.
Upon reaching the assembly areas, a roll call was conducted to ensure that all
students, teachers, and staff were accounted for.
The 1st Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill at Bical National
High School on March 25, 2024, was a resounding success. The drill effectively
tested the readiness and response capabilities of the school's learners and teachers
in the event of an earthquake. This exercise served as a valuable learning experience
for everyone involved, emphasizing the significance of earthquake preparedness and
the importance of working together as a community to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all residents. Bical National High School remains committed to further
enhancing its disaster preparedness efforts in collaboration with the School Disaster
Risk Reduction and Management team.
