It is originating naturally at or below the surface of the earth. It may occur all time, all over the earth. There are about 800 of it every day but we often hear about it only once. This is because that vast majority of these quakes are very weak. In this connection, the Rufino Aguilar Memorial High School has conducted the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill on June 9, 2022 at 1:00 in the afternoon. Before the drill, Ms. Jerema Joy R. Malayo, school DRRM coordinator conducted a short meeting for teachers and staff to be familiarized with the drop, cover and hold, moreover she reminded them to be calm and don’t panic. The drill started with the ceremonial pressing of the button where the teachers and staff followed religiously the three important things to do during an earthquake. These were the Dropping, Covering and Holding, at the same time watching out for falling objects and keeping calm and avoiding panic. Everyone was heading towards the designated open area to be safe from falling objects. Then the school DRRM coordinator did a head count to make sure everyone was there and safe.
