1. After watching the video "How Miscommunication Happens," when the narrator says that human communication is incredibly complex even in face-to-face interactions, he highlights several factors that cause complexity, which are; the body language, facial expressions, tone of voice, the situation or environment, own perspectives, and how they process the information. 2. The "Transactional Model of Communication" is explained by thinking of communication between people as a game of catch, they send their message and receive feedback, and by that, it builds relationships and understanding. During this communication, both communicators can’t help but receive and send messages, influencing each other. The environment and individual experiences also shape how messages are created, interpreted, and responded to. Miscommunication can easily arise in the transactional model which is the noise, it creates distractions or emotional barriers that can interfere with effective communication. 3. "Subjective lenses" refer to the individual perspectives, experiences, beliefs, and biases that shape how a person interprets messages and situations. The context and background of each individual affect how they understand and react in a conversation. It creates negative communication in several ways which are; differing interpretations, assumptions, emotional filters, and cultural differences which lead to frustration, conflict, and a breakdown in relationships. 4. In the context of the "lump of clay" from the video, the act of throwing and reforming the clay symbolizes how messages can be altered as they pass from one person to another. Imagine the initial shape of the lump of clay represents the original message of the sender, then the reforming process is when the receiver receives the message and then reforms it with their interpretation of the message, and finally throws the reformed clay back to the sender, that’s how it illustrates the potential for sending wrong information.
