Two-dimensional gel electrophoresis is also known as 2DE,
2D electrophoresis, or 2D-PAGE.
First independently introduced by two scientists named
O’farrell and Klose in 1975 for detection, quantification,
and analysis of proteins
In first dimension, proteins are separated based on their pl
value or charge .
In second dimension, proteins are separated based on
their sizes or molecular weight through SDS-PAGE.
