1 Conflict Log 1 Candice Willey GCU COM-312 Professor Tyler Sorg 02/07/2024 2 Conflict Log 1 In Chapter 1 of the textbook conflict is defined as an expressed struggle between at least two interdependent parties who perceive incompatible goals, scarce resources, and interference from others in achieving their goals. Conflict has been a part of my life here and there. I have been in a conflict with a family member due to their perception of how they were being treated by me. Since I have grown older and am now married with children, I no longer hang out like I used to do. This makes my cousin feel like I just don't want to be around her. But we no longer do the same things so in her eyes I don't like her but that is not the case at all. After thinking about this conflict, I have concluded that communication was the reason that this situation escalated to conflict. As it also says in the text communication and conflict are inextricably tied and to exclude conflict a conversation based on facts only with limited feelings. Even though the conversation may have been a difficult one to have but it possibly could have eliminated the chance of conflict all together. References Hocker, J. L., & Wilmot, W. W. (2017).
