HUMAN RIGHTS

WHAT ARE HUMAN
RIGHTS?
Human Rights are the inalienable rights of
man, i.e. the rights that must be recognized
to every person for the mere fact of
belonging to the human race, regardless of
origins, affiliations or places where the
person himself is located. Human Rights, in
fact, are nothing more than the set of
fundamental rights of the human being.
TIPES OF HUMAN RIGHTS
1. We are all born free and equal. We were all born free. We all have our own thoughts and ideas. We
should all be treated equally.
2. Don't Discriminate. These rights belong to everyone, whatever our differences.
3. The Right to Life. We all have the right to life and to live free and secure.
4. No Slavery. No one has the right to enslave us. We cannot make anyone our slave.
5. No Torture. No one has the right to harm us or subject us to torture.
6. You Have Rights Wherever You Go. I am a person just like you!
7. We are all equal before the law. The law is the same for everyone. You must treat us all fairly.
8. Your Human Rights Are Protected by Law. We all have recourse to the law when we are not treated fairly.
9. No Wrongful Detention. No one has the right to put us in prison without good reason and keep us there or
send us out of our country.
10. The Right to a Trial. If we are tried, it must be a public act. The judging person should not let anyone tell
him what to do.
11. We are always innocent until proven guilty. No one
should be blamed for doing anything in the absence of
evidence. When people say we've done something bad,
we have the right to prove that's not true.
12. The Right to Privacy. No one should try to damage our
good name. No one has the right to enter our home, open
our letters, or annoy us or our family without good reason.
13. Freedom of Movement. We all have the right to go
where we want in our own country and to travel where we
please.
14. The Right to Seek a Safe Place to Live. If we fear being
mistreated in our own country, we have the right to go to
another country to be safe.
15. Right to Nationality. We all have the right to belong to a
country.
HOW CAN WE REDUCE
INEQUALITIES?
Buy fair trade fruit at least once a week
Push for equal pay for substantially similar jobs
Invest in finance and technology for
developing countries to reduce income
inequality
Support campaigns for equal access to land,
clean water and sanitation for all
Write to local and national politicians to push
for action
Share the facts to family and friends to
encourage action
